Not being a huge fan of video games myself, I was surprised to find myself addicted to the websiode series “The Guild” created by Felicia Day (Of Doctor Horrible’s Sing Along Blog). The series has three seasons out on Netflix instant, with the fourth premiering just recently.
Cyd (Felicia Day) is a socially awkward girl who has recently met her guild in person for the first time. From the moment they meet, “real life” becomes way too complicated.
In the beginning, I was thinking the character profiles were a little off (a mother of two obsessed with WoW?), but as the seasons progress, I have given myself over to Day, admitting she knows how to make a badass series. I have a new girl crush. Check out the series here.
So, after a couple of hours hanging out with an iced coffee and my thesaurus, I am happy to announce that my side project, The Film Minstrel, is back up and running. I have decided to revamp things, shortening my entries and getting straight to the point. For those of you who haven’t visited, The Film Minstrel is dedicated to helping you find a movie to suit your mood.
Type a word, an actor, whatever, into the search box and take a gander at the movies that I have tagged under that title. By the way, if anyone is interested in writing short reviews (just a few sentences) or in giving me some good descriptive emotions that I should add to my search terms, please email me on either blog! I would greatly appreciate it.
Obviously that blog is more of a database than anything, so it’s going to take some time to get it where it needs to be, but hopefully in the next year or so it can serve a real purpose in the blogging community. I would really love feedback!!!
And now, Gandalf has something to say:
Thank you Josh, for this awesome photo.
By the way guys, every one of my pages on this blog has been updated!
If Luke Skywalker had a facebook…
Wicked Lasers has created something that will change Star Wars fandom forever. An actual lightsaber. The Spyder III is allegedly the most dangerous laser ever created, able to not only blind those who look at it, but it actually has the capability to burn flesh almost instantly. Yeah, this portable lightsaber is an actual weapon. A pretty blue one, just like Luke’s. Okay… the greatest part about this is that it is available in the consumer market- yes, anyone can buy this laser for just a mere 200 dollars. According to the website, your purchase includes a free pair of safety goggles. Woohoo! Here is the warning label on the website:
Warning: Extremely dangerous is an understatement to the power of 1W of laser power. It will blind permanently and instantly and set fire quickly to skin and other body parts, use with extreme caution and only when using the included eye protection. Customers will be required to completely read and agree to our Class IV Laser Hazard Acknowledgment Form.
I almost wish Gizmodo didn’t have this on their website. Let’s not spread the word too far on something that causes permanent blindness and a high likelihood of burning flesh for less than the price of a one way airplane ticket.
Hello friends, I have been MIA from the blogging world for several days now thanks to a rather detoxifying camping trip over memorial day weekend. Never the less, I am back, with an overstock of new things to share.
Totally looks like is a really funny website that is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. People or things that totally look like other people or things. Here are some of my favorites.
That last one is totally unbelievable. Favorite. Have I missed any that are crazy?
